First customer of the day

“I’ve been waiting for you!” I open the door and greet the first customer of the day.

“For me?” asks Fear.

“Sure! Come on in! Anything you want, everything’s on sale. Go through all the racks. Take your time. Try whatever on. Make yourself at home!”

“There must be a catch?” says Fear. “There’s always a catch.”

I tell her the truth. “Today, this time, when you leave, I’m not going with you.”
